About the event
As a part of Newbury Town Day, join Ipswich Ale Brewery and The Essex Base Ball Organization in celebrating a baseball pioneer, Bud Fowler. On May 17th, 1878 Bud Fowler became the first black profressional baseball player when he pitched for the Lynn Live Oaks.Ā
This event in part with Newbury Town Day is designed to bring together the three communities of Newbury (Old Town, Plum Island, and Byfield) to celebrate our wonderful town. Enjoy a vintage baseball game, shops and treats from local vendors. For more information about this event:
